Country Manager: Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay - Cisco
Gabriel Sakata joined Cisco in 2000 as System Engineer (SE) for the Service Provider segment in Argentina. In 2001, he was promoted to SE Manager for Enterprise & Channels segments. During 2001, he led the team to new positions during the economic crisis and achieved 100% CCIE certifications for SEs in Argentina. In 2005, he took the responsibility for the Southern Cone region. During those years he developed the business strategy and was critical in building the territory coverage for the Enterprise segments. On April 2006, he was appointed as SE Manager for the Channel’s team in Latin America. He was a main contributor and developer of the go to market strategy for the region and the launching of the Preferred Partner Policy that became a global practice within Cisco.
In 2010 he created the AP team for Latam Channels and in 2012 he was named Enterprise Architecture Sales Manager for MCO (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay & Uruguay). His main achievement was consolidating the sales technology specialists’ team and integrating the different acquisitions under one team.
Gabriel has a solid 20 years’ experience at the TI market. Prior to joining Cisco, he worked at Telefónica, Transistemas and Techint Group. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional and an MBA from the UCEMA in Argentina.
Gabriel is married to Alejandra and has two sons, Leandro and Nicolás.
